No, no, it's not just like the tahini you find in the market. We're from Green Fields Factory, and surely you've heard that everything we do is different. And if you ask, 'What's so different about tahini?' I'd say confidently that the tahini we offer can't even be compared to what's available in the market, not even half as good as Green Fields Factory tahini.
First off, its taste is much richer, it has a kind of salty flavor even though we don't add salt to it! And besides, it has a rich, creamy sesame flavor... I'm not exaggerating, but even with exaggeration, it's really addictive.
It goes well with dates, bananas, kofta, meat, and sometimes I even mix it with cocoa and milk (don't knock it till you try it!).
It's a must-have for a bit of change in your meals.
Today at the office, the kids always want rice, so we made shredded chicken and tahini sauce.
Here's the recipe from Mom...(and by the way, anyone can make it, it's very, very simple.)
- A cup of short-grain rice cooked with a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil
- Half a cup of traditional stone-ground tahini
- Juice of one lemon
- Cooked and cubed chicken breast
- Salt, black pepper, and a pinch of turmeric
- Two hot peppers
- A cup of chopped mint or parsley
- A drop of coriander oil
- Halved peeled almonds for garnish
- Place the rice on a serving dish
- Fry the chicken in a little olive oil with a drop of coriander oil and turmeric
- Put the chicken on top of the rice
- In the same pan, toast the almonds until they change color, stirring, and set aside
- Chop the hot peppers and mint or parsley and sprinkle over the chicken.
- In a bowl, mix tahini with lemon juice and a little salt and black pepper
- Gradually add cold water to the mixture until it becomes liquid
- Pour it over the rice and chicken
- Garnish with almonds
Enjoy your meal
Blessed Friday to everyone.
