Moringa Seed Oil
Moringa Oil
Cold-Pressed Moringa Seed Oil (Ben Oil)
Pure moringa seed oil (Moringa oleifera), cold-pressed in our own facility in Amman from selected seed. No heat, no solvents, no refining.
The oil the perfumers used
Moringa oil has been known for millennia as ben oil, from behen, the old name for the seed. The Egyptians used it, the Greeks and Romans traded it, and perfumers relied on it well into the modern era.
The reason was practical rather than romantic. Enfleurage — the old method of capturing flower scent in fat — required an oil that wouldn't turn rancid and spoil the fragrance. Moringa keeps better than almost any other plant oil, so it was the one they used.
Why it's so stable
Around 70% of it is oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat with a composition closer to olive oil than to most seed oils. Monounsaturated fats oxidise far more slowly than polyunsaturated ones, which is why moringa outlasts oils like flaxseed or grape seed by a wide margin.
For you that means a bottle you don't have to rush, and a base that holds whatever you blend into it.
What it's like
Pale gold, light in texture, and quick to absorb. The aroma is mild and faintly nutty — not neutral, but far from assertive.
On skin
Suited to daily use on the face, and light enough not to feel heavy. Used in facial oils, serums and moisturising preparations, alone or as a base.
Because it absorbs readily and doesn't sit on the surface, it works for most skin types — though as with any oil, patch-test first.
On hair
Used on ends and lengths rather than the scalp. A few drops smoothed through dry ends adds shine without weight.
As a carrier oil
This is where moringa earns its price. Its stability makes it the right base for blends you want to keep — home preparations, blends with essential oils, or anything you'll use over months rather than weeks.
Formulators use it for the same reason, particularly in products without synthetic antioxidants.
How it's made
Cold-pressed on German machinery without heat or chemical solvents, then filtered and bottled. Unrefined, non-GMO, hexane-free, vegan-friendly. Nothing added.
Produced in an ISO 22000 certified facility and tested by independent third parties. Halal certified. Available in retail bottles, bulk, and private label for cosmetic manufacturers.
Storage and notes
- Store in a cool, dark place. Moringa keeps well and doesn't need refrigeration.
- Patch-test before wider use.
- Colour and aroma vary naturally between batches with the season and harvest.
About our sourcing
Moringa is a recent crop in Jordan. A number of local growing projects have started in the past few years, and we buy from them first — when the harvest covers what we need, the seed in the press is Jordanian. When it doesn't, we make up the balance from established suppliers in India, where moringa has been grown for centuries.
We buy locally wherever the supply allows, and we'd rather say that plainly than print a single origin on the label that isn't always true. Origin documentation for any specific lot is available to commercial buyers on request.
