Carrot Oil
Carrot Oil
Cold-Pressed Carrot Seed Oil
Pure carrot seed oil (Daucus carota), cold-pressed in our own facility in Amman from selected seed. No heat, no solvents, no refining.
Pressed, not distilled — and the difference is large
Almost all carrot seed oil sold is a steam-distilled essential oil: highly concentrated, made up of terpenes like carotol, and never to be applied undiluted. It is a different product from ours in every practical sense.
Ours is a fixed oil, cold-pressed from the whole seed. It contains the seed's fatty acids along with its carotenoids and vitamin E, and it is used as a carrier oil rather than a concentrate — usable as it comes, and gentler by a wide margin.
If a recipe calls for carrot seed essential oil in drops, it doesn't mean this. If it calls for carrot seed carrier oil, it does.
What it's like
Deep amber to orange, and noticeably richer in colour than most oils — that comes from the carotenoids in the seed. The aroma is warm and earthy, unmistakably carrot but drier than the vegetable.
Be aware that the colour transfers. In a blend it lends a golden tint, and used generously on very fair skin it can leave a faint warmth of tone. Formulators either want this or account for it.
On skin
Long established in facial oils, serums and preparations for mature and dry skin. Because of its colour and strong aroma, it is nearly always blended rather than used alone — typically a small proportion in a base of apricot kernel, jojoba or safflower.
On hair
One of the twelve oils in our Hair's Mix, where it contributes its carotenoid content to the blend.
How it's made
Cold-pressed on German machinery without heat or chemical solvents, then filtered and bottled. Unrefined, non-GMO, hexane-free, vegan-friendly. Nothing added.
Produced in an ISO 22000 certified facility and tested by independent third parties. Halal certified. Available in retail bottles, bulk, and private label for cosmetic manufacturers.
Storage and notes
- Patch-test before wider use, and be aware the colour can transfer to skin and fabric.
- Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight — light degrades carotenoids.
- Colour varies noticeably between batches with the season and harvest. A deeper or paler amber is normal, not a fault.
